Friday Favourites – May 11th, 2012

Every Friday I try to post my links to cool content and tools that I’ve found or had recommended to me.

Cool stuff I’ve found this week:-

• Xobni – I revisted Xobni after a couple of years of not using it. It’s come on a long way. A plug-in for Microsoft Outlook that creates a sidebar with information relevant to your e-mail contacts. You can add Social Media details, quickly search for previous e-mail threads and attachments. Powerful stuff.
• Rapportive – a free add-on for Firefox, Safari and Chrome web browsers that (similar to Xobni) adds a side-bar to GoogleMail which highlights information about your contacts. A great use of the space previously taken up by advertising! Thanks to James Kimbley at Kimbley Computer Services for the heads-up!
• Ubuntu Cloud One – a Dropbox like application from Linux company Canonical. Works on Windows, Mac, Ubuntu, iOS and Android. Sync content between devices, and stream your music collection to iPhone or Android. 5GB free.
