Every Friday I share one of my favourite finds of the week — a website, tool or an app that has impressed me.
My Friday Favourite this week is Zoom – Video Conferencing.
What is it?
Zoom is a cloud video conferencing tool that works reliably.
How can it help me?
If like me, you’ve become frustrated with the increasingly unreliable Skype for video calls, or are irritated with Google Hangouts that don’t consistently work well, then Zoom is a rock-solid, reliable video conferencing service.
Zoom can be used for one-to-one or multiple person video conferencing or can be used for webinars of much greater numbers.
It has features such as call recording (with audio and video from your calls being recorded either locally or to cloud storage), plus screen sharing and more.
I’ve found Zoom to be very reliable across different platforms. With a small app that is automatically downloaded from a web browser on participants’ first call, it’s easy to use with your clients, prospects and other 3rd parties.
There are also apps for iOS, Android, and extensions for Microsoft Outlook, plus Chrome and other web browsers.
How much does it cost?
Zoom is free for an unlimited number of personal meetings, with a 40 minute limit on group meetings.
The Pro package costs $14.99 per month and includes unlimited meeting duration, user management, cloud recording and more.
There are also Business and Enterprise packages for larger companies.
How can I get it?
You can sign up for a free account at the Zoom website.
You can download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app for iOS from the Apple Store, or download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app for Android from the Google Play Store.
You can also follow Zoom Video Communications on LinkedIn, follow Zoom on Twitter, or visit Zoom Video Communications on Facebook.
