Tech Tribe: Local Tribal Gatherings - Tubblog: The Hub for MSPs

When asked, the top piece of advice I’d give to any IT business owner is “Don’t try to do this alone”.

The growth of my Managed Service Provider (MSP) business was dramatically accelerated thanks to the advice, guidance and help that was shared by my peers at local meetups.

By sharing my challenges and hearing advice and guidance from people who had either been there, done that, or were on the same journey as me, I saved myself many hours of headaches and felt the support of a community of like minded people.

Thanks to the work of The Tech Tribe and its illustrious leader, Nigel Moore (also a former MSP owner!) we hope that by rebooting these local user groups through the Tech Tribe, that a whole new generation of IT business owners will appreciate the old adage “A rising tide lift all boats”.

The Tech Tribe Local Tribal Gatherings are a monthly peer group where Managed Service Provider (MSP) owners, MSP vendors and other IT community members get together to exchange ideas, best practices and discuss how to succeed in the world of Managed Services.

Each group lead runs their group in their own specific way, but typically, each meeting is approx 2.5 hours long, with two round-table discussions on a topic of the month, often segmented by a refreshment break (Pizza!).

There are sometimes an (optional) vendor speed session during the refreshment break, where vendors can share their latest products/tools with the group.

Everyone is encourage to be a part of the discussion, and many groups often retire to a local bar or restaurant to continue the conversation after the meeting.
